There are several tricks you can use to enhance your ability to adjust to new changes and deal with them like a warrior. A warrior defends the weak and always avoids fighting unless there is no choice. When fighting must be done it is done with focus and clarity. In other words, a Jedi is a peaceful warrior with a zen-like mind.
Learn ZenSo the first technique to enhance focus to make you clear headed in times of crises is to learn about zen. You can get books from the bookstore about zen and I recommend reading many. This will get the ideas into your subconscious mind and you will be able to slowly put them into practice.
Basically zen is about maintaining awareness of yourself and your surroundings with the ability to let go of all thoughts and just experience. By getting into this clear headed – present minded – state you learn to stay in the present without daydreaming or thinking irrelevant thoughts.
Samurai and ninjas learn zen as part of their training to become a powerful warrior. Learning to focus on the present and letting go of all other thoughts is a powerful mind trick to enhance your awareness and to create greater peace of mind in all situations.

Practice AcceptanceIf there is something you can change then change it, be calm. If you can’t change it then accept it, be calm. In other words in all situations you can practice a mindful meditation of zen and acceptance.
You can practice this technique if if uncomfortable or in pain. If there is nothing you can do at the moment then just accept the discomfort/pain and think about other things or just be aware. Of course, you must seek medical attention whenever you are hurt. This is for dealing with the pain. If you get a paper cut or something like that then you can practice accepting the pain and moving on from thinking about it.
This self control mind trick will make you look like you have a very high threshold of pain (which you will) and make you appear stronger
